Flora Europaea the Linnean original specimen biennal-perennial, T-H, 2n=18, diploid xeric to mesoxeric, from the steppe and forest-steppe; as a ruderal also in many other parts of Europe Pontic-Anatolian-Caucasian-Turanian Amophyletalia, Puccinelio-Salicornietea R16, R64, R15, R34 habitats     This is a termophyle steppe species which can be found in many regions as a ruderal as well.
